DIY Nontoxic Soap Dispenser

A healthy environment is crucial for long term health and wellness. It’s preventative for those who are relatively healthy and it’s life saving for people who are dealing with any illness. Most household name brand products like cleansers, disinfectants, air fresheners, soaps, dish soap, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and more have toxic chemicals that cause a multitude of illness as they are neurotoxins that inflame the brain and nervous system, weakening the immune system and making us more susceptible to illness, disease and even cancer. These chemicals are also endocrine disrupters which alters our natural hormone production! Synthetic chemicals, synthetic fragrances are all sneaky chemicals we don’t even realize are causing our bodies harm and causing our bodies to work harder than they have to to detox these environmental toxins out and it’s putting a constant burden on our bodies in a place that is supposed to be safe. Our home is our sanctuary. Our body shouldn’t have to be battling unnecessary environmental toxins. The good news is, there are products that are nontoxic to ease the burden off our bodies. Look for products that are made with essential oils, not fragrance. If you aren’t sure about a product, there is a site called EWG.org that will tell you if a product is safe or not. This website has a scale of 1-10. 1 being the cleanest, 10 being the most toxic and harmful. Also, don’t be fooled by “all natural” products. I’ve seen some products that claim to be all natural and then the label is full of toxins. I have become an expert label reader. It’s extremely helpful when you are choosing products for your home and you get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Let’s start with soap! Dr. Bronner is the best soap in my opinion because you can use it to create your own foam soap and it has 18+ uses! It’s multipurpose and lasts quite a long time too. It’s made with essentials oils that are disinfecting and smell incredible. My favorite is Eucalyptus! I use it for my body wash sometimes and it’s so refreshing. They have a variety of sizes and smells to choose from.

To make this non toxic soap, you just get two things off Amazon. Glass dispensers and the soap. You can find it all HERE.

We love our soap dispensers. We bought a few sets off Amazon and it gives our home such a cute farmhouse feel. We have one in every bathroom. Just fill 3/4 of the mason jar with filtered water, fill the rest with your choice of Dr, Bronner’s soap and you’re good to go. Super easy, affordable and adorable too.

You can also find my video demonstration HERE.

I hope you’ll join me in making the switch to a healthier, nontoxic foam soap that your body will thank you for. Your body will breathe a sigh of relief and gratitude for lessening the toxic load this world has placed on us. We can’t avoid the toxins outside our home, but we can control what we bring inside of it to make it a truly safe and healthy environment for ourselves, our loved ones and our pets!

Love,

Chelsea Diane
