Cow Hugs at the Gentle Barn
Our visit to the Gentle Barn was magical. We got to cuddle, meditate, give affirmations of safety, love and strength, and sing lullabies to precious Madonna. She slowly started to trust me and lean into me more until she was falling asleep as I sang to her. Pure heaven! I also got to sing a little to Faith. She’s blind and the most magnificent Sweetheart. She loves music and taking her favorite ball with her everywhere for comfort. We met sweet Athena who is Faith’s Bestie. And at the end, I really bonded with Holy, Madonna’s sister. They were both torn from their Mother at birth and brutally abused. Holy was a victim of the dairy industry who cruelly broke her back as a baby. They were told to put her down, but with the determination and love from the Gentle Barn, she’s a walking miracle…which I hope to one day be the same. I’m working on it. Holy started giving me so much love and I think she intuitively could feel the pain I felt so I received so many kisses. Holy gives me hope and she gave me healing which I will cherish forever. All these babies were rescued from the cruel realities of the meat and dairy industry. It breaks my heart so when I looked into their eyes, as someone who has gone through suffering myself, I can see the stories they tell…I’m so happy and grateful they get to live their lives in peace. As all animals deserve. They are the definition of miracles, healing and overcoming the unimaginable. They are a reminder that no matter what we go through, with kindness and a lot of love, we can overcome and come out the other side, living our dream lives. I hope this inspires you to live a kinder, more compassionate life. To see that these babies are sentient, deeply sensitive and loving souls who deserve love.
