90’s Night!
Welcome! You’ve got mail!
You have one new message from Dolphintrainer32…
Hi friend! I came here tonight because when you realize you want to spread joy through Magical Moments, you want to do so as soon as possible! And of course I had to start this off with a Nora Ephron movie reference. Would it even be 90’s Night without the classics?! Sooooo… without further ado, let’s go back to the 90’s! The ultimate Theme Night of our dreams! And yes, that was my aol username back in the day! I had so much fun creating this blog for you. My family and I even made a fun 90’s video over on Instagram! I love how it turned out. You can watch that here!
When I think about my childhood, I remember it was full of so many things. I was overwhelmed (in a good way)with putting this together because the 90’s were the best! From the Boy Bands, R&B Britney, Spice Girls, all the music on cassette and CD players…to all the activities like roller blading, hula hoop, skip it, jump rope, Nintendo, hop scotch, sports, dancing with friends, watching my brother play hot wheels and collect Pokémon cards. Driving around the corner to the store with my Mom to see the new beanie babies that came out that week, writing in Lisa Frank notebooks full of stickers, going to Blockbuster to pick out weekend movies on VHS, taking Polaroid photos, reading Goose Bumps with a flashlight late at night getting spooked at any noise, playing games like Sorry, Candyland, Pogs, Cats Cradle, Kurplunk, watching shows and movies like Boy Meets World, Free Willy, Disney, Rugrats, Titanic, Nickelodeon, Fresh Prince, Power Rangers, When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle, Practical Magic, You’ve Got Mail, Ace Ventura, Selena, MTV, Friends and more all while wearing baggy tees and butterfly clips.
So, whip out your old CDs and Cassette tapes, browse through the options I found for you all here in one place and start planning your 90’s Night! It can be big or small. A bunch of family and friends or just your immediate family. We did one in my room when I wasn’t feeling up to something big. You’d be amazed how fun this can be just in your own room playing games on the floor and bed, dancing to 90’s music with 90’s commercials and shows playing in the background. We even whipped out our old VHS and watched a movie which was so nostalgic having to rewind and forward! And if you want a bigger party with friends, family, kids, have it in your whole house creating a dance floor in one room, game room in another, activities outside… that will be fun too!! If you want to have just your adult friends over or just your Grandparents… make it your own! I have it all here so you can choose what kind of 90’s Night you want to have! I’m so excited for you and your loved ones to experience this Magical Moment!
As always, thank you so much for buying through my affiliated links as I get tiny commissions for purchases made through some links in this post. So, thank you for supporting me. It means the world.
Ready to get started? “Alllllrighty then!”
Tips and ideas for you to choose from:
You can’t have a 90’s Night without the 90’s music so I made Playlist for you!
Play this 90’s parody music video—
“Back to the 90’s” by Ben and Jensen to get everyone in the 90’s mood! It’s the best!
Play 90’s commercials from YouTube or your favorite 90’s movie/sitcoms in the background.
Play 90’s themed games and trivia.
Make a section of the house into a dance floor!
If it’s for someone’s birthday who was born in the 90’s, you can do a video of them in the 90’s or have a slide show playing throughout the night.
This is possibly my favorite idea…If you have friends or family who like to act things out, you can hold a competition for the best 90’s movie scene reenactment OR Lip Sync Battle to 90’s songs. Have a time limit so they don’t take up the whole night. Whoever gets the most votes gets a 90’s themed prize basket. How fun would that be?! I can see it now… someone reenacting “ I’ll never let go Jack.” From Titanic or “Help is on the way Dear!” from Mrs. Doubtfire! Or someone doing the Carlton scene from French Prince or a Britney Spears music video or a group of people doing a Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC video. It’ll be a night to remember forever!
If you or a loved one needs it to be more quiet and chill, get dressed up, eat some food, play a low key game and watch a 90’s Movie on a VHS. That’ll take you back!
Next up, you will find all the items I found for Decor, Activities, Costumes, Accessories, 90’s Outfits and Makeup! After that, you will find all my ideas for food stations such as Pizza Planet with Toy Story Characters, Good Burger with my Compassionate Burger Recipe and Good Burger outfits, Ice Cream Cone Station with Forest Gump and all my alternatives to our favorite snacks back in the 90’s!
All of that is here for you to create your dream 90’s Night…

Food Ideas
Pizza Planet
How fun would it be to create a Pizza station with all the Toy Story characters!?
You can get some individual sized plant-based pizzas near you or you can have a
pizza making station where everyone makes their own as one of the activities for the night! I’ve included gluten free pizza doughs and the best mozzarella on the market from Miyokos! Yum!
Lunchable Station
”Oh Cheese and Crust…”
-Winnie Sanderson
Everyone knows I love to make my compassionate charcuterie boards! That would be perfect for a lunchable station with gluten free crackers, cut up sausage or plant-based deli meat and cheese. My suggestions for cheese since my favorite Miyokos Slices are being reformulated, is to use Miyokos cheese sticks and cut into cubes or Daiya Cheese BLOCKS, the new and improved versions. Slice those into thin squares and it’s perfect. You can also include organic peanut butter, jam and gf bread to make PB&Js too!! Yum! You can find inspiration for the board HERE, along with more food like everything you need for PB&J.
Good Burger
What I love about living a plant based lifestyle is showing others that Good Burgers don’t have to contain an innocent cow to be a GOOD Burger. My Compassionate Burger Recipe is so good, my whole family loves it. And if you live near a Veggie Grill or Carl’s Jr. they offer beyond burgers too! I know that Burger King and Wendy’s also have plant based impossible burgers, but they aren’t gluten free. Bottom line, there are so many choices and you can create your own Good Burger for the food for your 90’s Night. You can find My Compassionate Burger Recipe and everything you need for it HERE.
Whoever is cooking up the burgers can wear The Good Burger Uniform and use the famous phrase to take orders! That a fun little touch people will love.
Snacks
We all love a good nostalgic snack. Most of the snacks we loved are full of the worst ingredients and chemicals
you could put in your body, so I found alternatives to some of our 90’s snacks like
fruit roll ups, pop tarts, Mac n Cheese, s’mores, chips and candies! Enjoy!
Ice Cream Cones
“The only good thing about being wounded in the buttocks is the ice cream.
They gave me all the ice cream I could eat…. Lieutenant Dan iiiiiice cream”
-Forest Gump
(All items below are Gluten Free and Vegan)
Edible Cookie Dough by
Angela’s Plant Based Kitchen
I remember as a kid, I would sneak cookie dough when my mom wasn’t looking.
This is a delicious alternative to that! It’s a big hit! Everyone requests it for holidays now so I feel like this would be a perfect dip for 90’s night.
Beverage
I found some organic and healthier alternatives to our favorite 90’s drinks.
As Kel used to say “I love orange soda! I do I do I do ooooo.”
I hope you found a few things you’re excited to incorporate into your very own 90’s Night! Save this page to reference back to anytime. I’m so grateful you’re here. Please tag me on Instagram @misschelseadiane so I can see how it turns out and all the things you got. I would absolutely love that.
I often ask myself, “Will anyone see my blog and what I put out there?”…as Kathleen Kelly said, “I don't really want an answer. I just want to send this cosmic question out into the void. So good night, dear void.”
